UK-based Wood has been awarded a major contract to carry of engineering work on Woodside Energy’s floating production unit to be installed at the deepwater Trion field in Mexican waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

Late last year, the Australian operator sanctioned the landmark US$7.2 billion development which is expected to produce up to 100,000 barrels per day of oil and is due on stream in 2027.
