Chinese yard Cosco Shipping Heavy Industry has delivered a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) bound for Cyprus — a strategic initiative by the Mediterranean island nation aimed at curbing its carbon footprint.

The FSRU, named Prometheus after its conversion from the Moss spherical tank LNG carrier Galea at Cosco’s Shanghai facility, is a project commissioned by lead contractor China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering Company (CPPEC).
