ONGC starts Indian offshore rigs chase in latest fleet expansion drive

India’s state-controlled Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has set the tender ball rolling for charter hiring up to four offshore rigs across two separate categories, with the vessels likely to be deployed off the country’s western coast.

ONGC operates more than 35 offshore rigs, including charters, and is aggressively scaling up this domestic fleet to explore new blocks while continuing with multiple brownfield developments off the west coast.
