Waaree Renewable commissions 122.5 MW solar power projects, Energy News, ET EnergyWorld


New Delhi: Waaree Renewable Technology, a subsidiary of Waaree Energies, on Tuesday said it has commissioned a 122.5 MW solar power project in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh.

According to the official press release, the project is for UPC Renewable Energy’s arm Masaya Solar Energy.

“This solar power project is expected to produce 349 MU of electricity annually, and will reduce CO2 emissions by 3,73,422 metric tonnes,” said Alok Nigam, Countary Head, UPC Renewable Energy.

He added that once connected to the grid, the project will fulfill the annual electricity requirements of nearly 278,000 homes in a clean and sustainable manner.

“This project with UPC Renewables is our first with ISTS connectivity. In addition to providing EPC solutions, we will also carry out operation and maintenance on the plant for a period of two years,” said Viren Doshi, Director, Waaree Renewable Technologies.

Waaree Renewable is an engineering, procurement, and construction service provider in the solar energy sector, having installed over 1 GW of solar projects, including on-ground rooftop and utility projects, till date.
