Vaar Energi chief executive bullish on prospects for ‘big new field’ discoveries on Norwegian shelf

More big discoveries and more big new field developments will materialise offshore Norway, according to the chief executive of operator Vaar Energi.

“I believe there will be big new field developments on the Norwegian continental shelf, for sure,” said Torger Rod, Vaar’s chief executive at the company’s Capital Markets Day.

“I remember working on the Kristin field development for Equinor, that was in 2005, it was a stated belief that it would be the last big field development. And that has proven to be very wrong.”
