TotalEnergies hit by ‘human rights abuse’ lawsuit linked to East Africa projects

TotalEnergies has been hit with a fresh lawsuit filed by activists seeking reparations for alleged “human rights abuses” linked to the Tilenga oil project in Uganda and the associated East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP).

This is the latest legal attempt brought against the French supermajor in France by local and European campaign groups opposed to the oil developments, but whose most recent case was dismissed by a Paris court in February this year.
