Petrobras tender for Campos basin subsea gas revamp stumbles on flexibles package

Two companies have submitted commercial offers in a Petrobras tender to contract new subsea equipment and replace ageing gas export infrastructure in the Campos basin offshore Brazil, but suppliers of key flexible pipe components snubbed the tender.

Over the past few years, Petrobras has been injecting cash to redevelop part of its Campos basin producing assets in an effort to curtail the natural decline of mature fields and add output from potential new discoveries.

Brazilian players Ocyan and Locar Guindates were the only two that presented bids in the new tender to land an engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) contract with Petrobras

However there was a lack of bidders for a contractual package to manufacture dozens of gas export flexible pipes.
