Chevron and Woodside have reached total depth on separate operated deep-water exploration wells in the US Gulf of Mexico.
Chevron was operating the Starman-1 well in Mississippi Canyon Block 412. The well spudded on 9 June 2022 in 457 metres of water, and reached total depth in October.
Woodside, which has a 25% non-operator interest in the well, said in its latest quarterly report that analysis of well results is ongoing.
Woodside had told Upstream previously that Starman was an oil prospect in a mature play trend in the Central Gulf of Mexico.
