New Delhi: Amp Energy India, through its subsidiary Amp Green Energy, on Thursday said it has won CESC’s 150-megawatt (MW) wind-solar hybrid auction at Rs 3.07 per unit tariff.

CESC Ltd is a private discom in Eastern India which generates and distributes power to customers in Kolkata and other areas in the country.

According to the official press release, the contracted capacity of the project is 150 MW and would require about 250-MW of wind and solar capacity installation. It said that the project will be connected to the inter-state transmission system network.

“By combining wind and solar energy in a single project, we can optimize land use, improve power generation, and reduce intermittency of the system,” said Pinaki Bhattacharyya, MD and CEO, Amp Energy India.

With this, the company’s utility portfolio stands at over 1.75 GW and total portfolio of projects stands at about 3 GW including C&I off-takers, the release added.
